Looking into getting a punching rod looking for any info on good brands? I currently have a 7'7 irod and the eyes are always cutting my braid so I'm very displeased with the irod. what brand do you guys use?

Castaway Grass Rake. I have jigged grass for many years and only broke one. I have the old ones and two of the new ones.

Falcon Jason Christie Pitchin' stik Extremely enjoyable to fish with this rod--at $90-$100 it's priced well also Other Falcon rods (Bucoo line up) at the same price point for very thick vegetation

I love to flip/punch; it's hand to hand combat and nothing is more of a rush. I use 2- e6x rods, 2- gander Mt. elites, and 2- older quantum tour editions. All are great flipping rods. I do have an omen black that I find myself using more and more. My advice, my opinion only, would be to look for a flipping stick with a little bit of tip with good guides to handle 50-65lbs braid and use a high speed reel,(Tatula - R type 100xs is my favorite).

I'm the same way! I try to pick up my flipping stick every time I go fishing. I have a abu Garcia revo rocket paired with it and it handles great with the 65# sunline bx2. rod has great back bone but the eyes are constantly breaking... eventually I will have repaired all of the eyes on the rod!

Go have a custom rod built. 7'6"-8'. Look for an im6 blank. Honestly with braid or heavy fluorocarbon you do not need that sensitive of a rod. Just something strong to get the job done.

Castaway Grass Rake. I have jigged grass for many years and only broke one. I have the old ones and two of the new ones. Yep! The East Texas Grass Rake is still my go to rod for this. Castaway had it before it was called punching!
