I have a Humminbird 898 with di/si and the other day on the lake it was shutting off on its own I would turn it back on and 5 minutes later it would shut off. When I got home I checked the voltage and it had power. ( I don't think it was over heating because it was a great 70 degrees and it didn't feel hot). Has any one ran into a similar problem any help is appreciated thx.

Yes I have, although you had power when you checked it you have a bad connection somewhere.

It could be either one! mine was the prongs that plugged into the graph but it could be at either end. Clean both end real good.

I had same problem last week. Mine was the power cable at the unit. With it powered on, shake the power cable at the unit and see if it powers off.

Dielectric grease on connectors will keep them working well.

See you on the lake and have a great day!
