In middle of a Montana trip of top trout streams. Fishing Big Hole River now and going upstream into canyon tomorrow; then on to Bitterroot and tributaries. Trip is on the cheap with no guides or float trips. It can be done.
Plenty of fish so far even though we had to pass on Yellowstone River which was closed until just the other day. Caught my first Brook Trout on a fly today.

fantastic can't wait for pics! unless I was in a spot only accessible by a boat that I did not have I would never use a Guide personally. I still manage to catch a fish or two on my own:)glad you're having a good trip congratulations on the brookie looking forward to pics.
