 Has anyone used Abu Garcia's warranty in first year?

I am having to send one of my brand new Abu Garcia reels in because it came damaged from the factory. I am sending it off today for repair/replacement. Have any of you ever used their warranty claim service? I am curious to see if you have to wait 6 months before you see your reel again like a lot of companies.
I am not saying I can't wait 6 months, but I am a fisherman and I feel lost without all my toys....
