The sandbass were thick on Ray Roberts by the state park this morning. Although you could catch some smaller ones near the surface, most of them were hugging the bottom but could be tricked into biting a slab jigged just above the bottom. The fish were bigger and fatter than the sandbass I've been catching there recently.
There were 10-12 boats in a relatively small area and the wind was up. But everyone behaved-no crowding, no yelling, no crossed lines, no driving into the school with the big engine, etc. Just a bunch of boats with guides and their clients, dads with their kids, friends enjoying a day on the water, and some folks out on their own. It was nice to see.
