I am looking at Tundras and Chevys and it may come down to price. I have a pretty good idea what the Tundra is going to cost me but the Silverdao is another story. I entered the options I wanted on NADA and it spit back like $47k MSRP and $43k invoice for a Z71 with 5.3, towing, & midnight package. Just seemed a little high compared to the Tundras I spec'd out. I have heard that Chevy dealers normally offer a higher discount off MSRP. At the prices I am looking at the Tundra will be a no brainer.

Call the guys at James Wood in Decatur. I just bought my wife a Denali HD and they were cheaper hands down than the other places we looked. Our salesman was Hunter loch

You will never know till you got wheel and deal with both of them.
If you buy without wheeling and dealing with both of them you will never know.
If you listen to the big points people talk about it would seem that if GM wasn't cheaper they wouldn't sell any trucks.... because everyone knows that Toyotas have more power last longer have better resale and are more reliable, if they cost less too then nobody would buy anything else. I also find that Toyota people tend not to talk about the problems they have had but if you actually do a little looking they have problems too.

Right now I am just curious because all I hear is Tundras cost more. If they do you do not see it in MSRP.

shopping for a car is not easy. You have to do your homework and talk to every dealer to see what their best price is

Send Monte Coon on here a PM with all the options and the exact truck you want and see what they can do. Everyone on here that has bought from him has had nothing but good things to say, including myself. You don't have to buy right now to get a quote.
I hate photobucket.

I approaching 4 years on the ToyOta which is where I get the itch. Hopefully it passes.

I am the GSM for AutoNation Chevrolet in Corpus Christi. If you end up going with the Chevrolet, send me a PM and I'll tell you what sort of price you can expect to pay. If you want to make the drive, I take care of all my fishing buddies. Just let me know if I can help!

They all have issues......best place to get info on the issues are the forums...for Tundra issues go to Tundratalk...am sure Chevy has forums that people discuss issues on.

You really need to be asking these questions when you are within a couple of weeks of buying. Know what you want. 2 weeks out, start your price hunting.
Man up. Fight the GOOD fight.

I guess you have never been on the Tundra or Tacoma forums. The reason I asked is I see these huge $8k - $10k discounts off MSRP on domestic trucks. I rarely see anything advertised on Tundras and if I do it is half of that.

In my experience Toyota drivers only talk to other Toyota drivers about issues they have had and when a dodge, chevy, ford guy sticks his head in they all act like Toyota is the best thing since sliced bread, never breaks gets the best fule mileage in the world and the v-6 has more grunt than a heavy duty diesel. Just my opinion from my own observations. I wouldn't hesitate to own a Toyota car or small suv etc. Their trucks are just too uneconomical for me in the fuel economy department. I know some will say you give up the fuel economy for reliability and performance, but the other trucks I have had were/are reliable have plenty of capability, and get better fuel mileage and from my shopping efforts cost less.

Ambassador nailed it and that's why I am always apprehensive about posting prices on the forum they do not last forever. The deal I just offered is based on a 16% rebate that's only available on select units once they are sold that's it unless they come out with the same incentives again.
