So I would like to mount some Gear tracks on my Kayak. Specifically they would be used for Rod Holders and possibly a small fish finder head unit.
So my question is, do you think the PVC tracks would be sufficient or should I spend the extra money for the Aluminum tracks?
Also, Has anyone done any DIY gear tracks?

The tracks come with LOTS of holes for screwing them down. They are made of strong hard plastic and will not fail for the rod holders if you put all screws in. The fish finder will be fine also. I added them to mine and glad I did as I can add what ever I need.

I'd go with aluminum. Stronger and doesn't degrade because of UV.

For rod use I would stay with aluminum.
