Hard Core (Major League Fishing format) is pretty cool getting to count every fish you catch.
So right now we have been discussing how to split up Lake Fork into sections for the semi final and Championship. By bridges, then what about Little Caney and Birch. It may get ugly LOL.
Today's fish were caught on cranks, drop shot and weightless flukes for the most part.
On the boater side
First place Steve Chick of Yantis with 18.98 on 15 fish with a 4.94 lunker.
Second place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 12 bass for 10.81 and a 1.10 lunker.
Third place boater is Jack White of Yantis with 6 bass for 9.84 and the 5.16 lunker.
On the Co-angler side:
First place went to Doug Watson of Yantis with 12 bass for 14.44 and a 4.54 lunker..
Second place went to Jerry Krone of Hawkins with 10 bass for 12.4 and a 3.48 lunker.
Third place went to Gene Shoemaker of Quitman with 2 bass for 7.50 with the 6.38 lunker.
Two more members who qualified for the semi-finals are new member Dennis Bubinas and new member Gene Shoemaker, bringing the total to 19. We still have 1 tournament left to qualify outright for the November round 2. We caught 97 keepers on Thursday.
For Dennis fishing in first LFA tournament he established a lunker record of 4.93
For Gene fishing in first LFA tournament he established a lunker record of 6.38
Steve established a new lunker for Hard Core at 4.54 and bag of 18.98
Jerry established a new lunker for Hard Core at 3.48 and bag of 12.40
For info in fishing this tournament and others put on by the Lake Fork Anglers contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or PM me on here. We have openings for both boaters and co-anglers right now. This is a club that fishes only on Thursday daytime. We do not hold open tournaments. But dues is $5 a year.
All of our tournaments are priced for seniors as follows. $10 entry 100% payback, $1 for club and $1 for the Top 6 team* So Total entry of $12. Optional lunker pool 100% payback of $5. Optional 100% payback side pot for $10 per person.
In addition to this format that we call "Hard Core" we also fish our regular every other Thursday tournament all at Lake Fork on a draw style fishing. All of our tournament "paper" the bass and slot fish count.
If you are as "Hard Core" as some of us you can fish every Thursday like we do. And some Fridays too. And then Opens on the weekend.
Hey we are seniors and we are supposed to be doing something to keep us healthy and our minds sharp and get some vitamin D. LOL At least that is what you need to tell your wife.
