Well I sold my pontoon boat so I am riding around in my jon boat that I have had since I was in high school (thing is bulletproof). I have caught more fish out of that thing than any other boat I have ever owned. Yesterday evening I thought I would give it a go for an hour or so and see if I could find some schooling fish. I went right out of Bayview marina and started catching. Fish were busting the top, but there was only one problem. The majority of these fish were 12" HYBRIDS. I caught over 50 fish, but kept 6 magnum sandbass for the grease. The guy next to me also could tell the difference between sandies and hybrids, for which I was grateful. The fishing slowed when another fisherman drove right through the middle of the surfacing school about half throttle with his extra loud two stroke outboard
but the fishing kicked back up again about 15 minutes later. Good to be on the water and is just a reminder to myself that you don't need a $40k center console to catch fish.
