I'm new to Gibbons Creek and wondering what areas are best to target for trophy blues during Fall/Winter months? Especially for a Kayak fisherman such as myself.

being in a kayak, ya probably want a calmer area, so I would say go up Plum creek until you see some trees right out in the middle. Tie up or anchor there and put out as many rods as you take with you, using cut or whole shad. Sometimes have to go to hot water discharge in winter to find shad with a throw net.

You could drift across the middle of the lake, creek channels, with drift rigging, but boat traffic might be bad...since they are only open Friday thru Sunday, you have a bit of boat traffic to deal with on weekends.

Good Luck

Well I caught this guy last weekend in about 6 ft of water pretty close to where you said. Not a blue, but I'll take it any day!

damned good lookin fish. catch it off the yak?

Give man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach man to fish, he'll sit on a boat and drink beer all day.

Nice cat TexAg, any time you get a yellow cat it is a special prize.
