I am looking to purchase an affordable two battery on board charger for my trolling motor batteries. Lots of options out there, any advice would be helpful before I purchase one.

I would purchase a good name brand. Sometime I am not home for a few days to unplug so make sure it has that maintaining capability to stay plugged in. Many leave them plugged in 24/7. I do not because any product can fail. When I get back home it is unplugged; but is a great feature to have on a charger.

I prefer Minn Kota:

What are you charging exactly? Lead Acid, AGM? How many?

Oh that's easy, I've got (2) two bank chargers on the shelf that charge lead acid batteries. Just plug in after a trip, forget it and they are ready for the next trip. Automatic voltage sensing, keeps them at 100%. I'm using AGM batteries that require a different charging system.
