I am looking to purchase an affordable two battery on board charger for my trolling motor batteries. Lots of options out there, any advice would be helpful before I purchase one.

I would purchase a good name brand. Sometime I am not home for a few days to unplug so make sure it has that maintaining capability to stay plugged in. Many leave them plugged in 24/7. I do not because any product can fail. When I get back home it is unplugged; but is a great feature to have on a charger. I prefer Minn Kota: http://www.basspro.com/Minn-Kota-Precision-Onboard-Marine-Battery-Chargers/product/12081605480157/

Oh that's easy, I've got (2) two bank chargers on the shelf that charge lead acid batteries. Just plug in after a trip, forget it and they are ready for the next trip. Automatic voltage sensing, keeps them at 100%. I'm using AGM batteries that require a different charging system.
