I committed the financial mistake of buying a new bay boat (blue wave) and having an issue with mold growing in the back by the bilge pump area. I let it dry out after i get off the lake but water tends to stay in the hull area some. What's the best way to keep the mold from growing in there?

Have the same issue with mine, I clean it with some bleach and soap (bleach really gets it clean) not sure if its super safe to use but it gets the bilge clean...

You can always let it drain on a hill for a while to make sure it is all drained, and then leave a couple of the access covers open for ventilation. A little air circulation goes a long way to keep things dry.

I thought about the bleach, mixing some with some water, maybe like a cup per gallon and letting that clean it up some. Might have to spend a bit of time on the boat ramp to make syre it all drains out.

When I get home I place a 6 inch diameter fan on top of round access panel above bilge area and let it run for a couple of days. Works well for me.

I might have to try that kennerdude. Can pick o e of those up for pretty cheap. Do all bay boats hold a little water in the hull?

Don't know if problematic in other bay boats. I've done this for 3yrs on our Kenner without obvious mold/mildew probs. After returning from an outing I always charge batts and put the fan over the round hole (high speed setting) and let it go for couple of days.
