Fished a local creek from 7:30am till 11:30am and caught a bunch of nice fat Greens. All the fish were in the 7" range and all of them were fat and full of fight. The bite was super aggressive and they hit the bait hard.Rounding out the catch were a couple of Rios in the 7 to 8 inch range and a few Bluegill. The creek is in good shape with good current. Fish were holding close to the bank next to brush piles or sunken rock. Float and bottom techniques were used. Worms and Gulp Alive Night Crawlers were the baits used. All fish were released to fight again. Some super Green Sunfish action on a local creek. It just don't get any better! fish

What gives BAF! You go fishing and not catch a record.

Anyway, nice greens, they are fun fish to catch and some have awesome colors. They get "huge" in ponds

Nice fish Chuck. woot I have not caught many Greens this year. Have you fished any of the inner city creeks lately. If so what are the conditions and are there any clear spots to cast a fly? hmmm

Thanks Curtis for the reply! cheers I have fished the inner city creeks a bunch this year. They are in GREAT shape with good quality fish! thumb Still trying to get a nice Rio off of one of them. The Rios vanished peep a couple of years ago due the drought. bang Now that the creek is coming back I have caught a few small ones. Several years ago during the spring, summer, and fall you could go there and catch 9 to 10 Rios anytime! eeks Next year there should be some bigger fish! thumb

Nice Greens Chuck. Bet those creeks are loaded with them. How would you rate the Green bite over all for the year? Also do you catch many during the winter months?

Thanks Gitter for the reply. cheers The Green bite has been good this year mainly on the creeks. I have not caught many on the lakes or rivers this year. As for the Green winter bite during the winter. It is pretty slow. You might pick up a few during the warm spells. hmmm
