What's the smallest size braid y'all have used on a casting reel without it digging in or having backlash issues? I've tried 30lb regular power pro and had digging issues. Been using 65lb super slick with no issues whatsoever. I'd love to use a smaller diameter but want to stay away from the digging problems. Any suggestions?

First put 2/5 spool of 10lb Big Game mono.
Then 15lb power pro superslick to 6 ft of 12lb leader for large crankbaits. Not many problems with backlashes/digging in.

40 lb used to be my go too, its works really well. But not as easy to find, so i use 50 a lot.

I love the old 56 samuri braid... it was like 40 lb diamater but strong as 50

I use 20 lb PowerPro, which is 6lb mono diameter, on an old Abu Garcia 1600 Black Max reel and have never had a problem of it digging in. Again, like others have said, I do use a mono backing on all of my reels with braided line.

I use 30lb Stren Supersonic.. not sure its made anymore but it has been great line. I have had some digging on my Crig but it is preventable by how how I cast. Its been great on my drop shot spinning rig, Shakey Head spinning rig, Crig casting, I agree about using backing.. I only have a little more than a cast of braid on the spools.
