Got them on the trailer today and here is my review. When I loaded the boat back on the trailer, I backed it into the water the same depth as I always do. Drove the boat up on the trailer as usual and literally idled up against the winch roller. I think I could have easily pulled the entire boat on the trailer by hand. No more power loading and banging into the winch roller or back breaking winch cranking trying to get it the last few inches to the roller. This stuff does everything it's represented to do.. Great product. The down side... In spite of what the manufacturer says about the minimum span needed to prevent sagging, any length of this stuff is going to require support to prevent sagging or bowing. It's just a flexible material and there is no way around that. They sell a "Supreme" version that has aluminum bracing under it, but it still has to be cut or notched to clear the bunk supports on the trailer, so in my opinion, it's just as good to cut some aluminum channel of the correct length and bolt it to the underside of the boards, drawing the boards up tight to the channel. All in all, this stuff is the real deal and money well spent if you are tired of having to power load your boat or you're just tired of winching the last few inches..

I just put my trailer at the right depth and never have a problem loading with standard carpeted bunks.

I just put my trailer at the right depth and never have a problem loading with standard carpeted bunks. The right boat, trailer, and ramp combination will afford that. I'm not always that lucky.

I did a test today when I loaded just to see what these boards have. I backed the trailer in only deep enough to get the ends of the bunk boards in the water to give me a guide on. Got the boat positioned and gave it some throttle and literally dry-loaded the boat. It went with 6 inches of the winch and I finished with cranking it up with one arm .This AM when I launched, I backed in to my usual depth and idled the boat off the trailer. This stuff is unbelievable.

You can buy these boards in bulk but not in one or 2 boards at a time. If there was enough interest in people buying a bulk load, I would consider doing it. Or, maybe looking at thinner boards and just screw them down on to the ones that are on the trailer now.

The Ultimate Bunk Boards are sold in pairs.
I did get some aluminum channel to bolt to the bottom to stiffen them and take out the bow/sag. The difference between doing that yourself and buying the ones with the aluminum bracing attached is around $7/ft.

Second trailer my Ultimate Bunk Boards have been on and in service over ten years and that is a lot of launches and loads. I originally got them to use at Fairfield which was known to be low and hard to load and launch at. I'm sure carpet bunks will last that long.

I installed the channel supports under the bunks today. They leveled everything out nicely. Not sure I gained a lot by doing that, but at least I know it's right and I won't start fuming every time I look at it wishing I had done a better job. I used 2" alum channel and that seems to be about right. There is still just a little bit of flex, but that's OK since it will allow the bunks to conform to any hull irregularities. Now I need to replace the all white nav light that I some how managed to tear up and put the nav lights on the gunwales. I discovered the other night that with the trolling motor on the bow, my port side nav light is completely obscured. Need to fix that before he GW sees it.

I just realized that my wood bunks are rotting out on my Nitro trailer. Thanks for posting this. Where did you attach the aluminum channel supports? Did you attach to the trailer or to the bunks?

The channel is attached to the bottom of the bunk boards. I countersunk on the top and through bolted them to the boards. The channel was cut to fit between he upright supports of the trailer. The photo doesn't show it very well.

looks a whole lot like the TREX I used to build my deck out of 16 years ago. and it needs to be supported every 16" to keep from sagging. waterproof, rot proof, termite proof, no splinters. It looks as good today as the day I put it down 16 years ago. I think I would go broke trying to use this on my 25ft Tri-toon trailer. Lot's of linear feet of boards on that trailer
