Heading there in 2 weeks for pleasure fishing so would like to know if Marina ramp on 155 is open.

Any tips for fishing the area appreciated by 2 old codgers out for a little fall fishing enjoyment. Interested in north end mostly.

Yes. That ramp is open.

Just so you know, the public cedar springs ramp is across the road from that ramp and I like launching there better. That marina ramp is pretty steep and there are big metal poles out in the water. For me, it's just another obstacle in the way that doesn't need to be there.

There is also metal on the bottom of the docks at the marina that can scratch the heck out of your boat. Don't try to launch there alone and tie off.

North end, fish the bridge, hump, pump station, islands around the winding river channel!

Thanks. We'll be in a 2 man 10ft pond boat transported on a small trailer to the ramp for launching. Only using a TM so need to stay closer to ramp so your suggestions and warnings are appreciated.

This. Nice ramp and good parking at Cedar.

Might be better fishing with that boat around the Lone Star ramp. It's north of 155 on 259.

SLO: I noticed this ramp on google earth but wasn't sure of the area safety or ramp condition. How is the fishing this far north and what might we see in structure and grass?

My concern with the Cedar ramp is the distance to run to get north of 155 with just a TM. How far is it?

I am concerned about the steepness and dock metal at the Marina.

Thanks for the replys.

With your boat and normal water levels you should be fine at the marina. My warning about the metal, was When lake was 3 feet high. I went to tie off and a piece of metal scratched two places on my top cap.

The park ramp is only about a half-mile from the bridge, with good fishing all along the way!

There is some good fishing along the river at the lone star ramp. The ramp and parking are good. It would be about a mile or so of trolling in bigger water launching from cedar ramp.I crossed over the 259 bridge yesterday and water looked real good with healthy cabbage grass along the river edges.
