Bardwell was very good to me yesterday and today. Same old story. 1/16 oz. jighead, salt and pepper color. 12-16' of water on brush piles. About one crank off the bottom. I still haven't mastered that clicker, LOL! It read 25 but only had 24 when I got home. Took about 5.5 hrs yesterday. Caught 13 keepers in 3 hrs today and decided I'd had enough. No pics from today, but here is yesterdays catch.

Alright Rod! I keep telling the wife I'm going to fish Bardwell. I'm headed there this Friday! Is there any standing timber at Bardwell? Nice catch!

MilesHunter, if there is any standing timber I don't know where it is. Some guys swear by fishing the bridge. I've never done any good up there. All I fish now are brush piles. And all of them are south of Love Park ramp, on the east side, down to the dam. I'm sure there are other piles on different parts of the lake, but I always catch fish on these, so I can't spend time looking elsewhere. If and when these play out, I'll search for new ones. Hope this helps. This is a great little fishery once you figure it out. Good Luck, Rodney

Rodney the reason you don`t know where the Bardwell Standing Timber is because.............THERE IS NONE!The only time there was standing Timber IMHO was when the lake was flooded. There was standing Timber everywhere then especially in the cove North of the HighView Marina.Maybe some west of Big Mustang but who wants to go all the way up there it mostly silted.

I don't have a trolling motor on the pontoon yet so fishing submerged brush piles is not going to happen unless I have something to tie up to. I need to save my pennies and make this trolling motor happen sooner rather than later. I appreciate the info though. I'll let you know when I finally make the trip. Maybe we can hook up and make a dent in the food chain.

It has collapsed. It is still there, just laying on the ground. I still use it. I just beach my boat on the left side of it and walk up it. It is made of aluminum, so it's not going away. It cuts down on tracking mud into my boat.
