Well I mean we Crappie fished while the tournament was going on.
I went to my regular bp's close to the house on east fork. Watched them big boats
zooming all around us. One boat stopped and talked and ask if we were
fishing a bp, (duh the big yellow bouy gave us away), and I told him yes.
He asked if it was ok for them to fish around us, and I said sure...while
we were pulling out 11-12 inchers..!! one spot there was about 20 boats with
in 100 yards of us, they were all very cordial, never got too close,..even
when I caught a 3 pounder on a minnow,..we finished the day with 20 big slabs
and let about another 40 back...we're learning this crappie fishing slowly,..
and still using 90% minnows. I was trying a deep slip bobber technique I really like.
I set up the bobber about a foot over the bp and I'm loving it...
Jigs are still a tuff way to crappie fish for me so far,..but I'm trying, just not
much patience....Friday was a fun day too,..me a Deb went to Athens and fished noon to 5pm,
caught 70 one to 3 pounders (bass) schooling,..flukes and 2" swim baits in a shad color
was the ticket,..fun way to have some fun,..jim fish

Great read....

To build your trust and confidence in your jig fishing, leave your minnows at home.

Great report...I've played with a slip bobber set up this summer...worked pretty good for the kids...they are not to proficient with the long poles yet.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?
