Top water bite was on all morning long. Don Iovino Splash-It was "En Fuego". No monsters but a lot of nice bass. Left around 10:30 and the bite was still good. I hated to leave but had a prior commitment.

Nice catch. What top water baits were you using? I'm digging your boat shoes.

By the looks of the way he's using the pliers, I'm guessing it was a Don Iovino Splash-It

LOL! Those old shoes barely have any soles left, but I can't stop wearing them. I used the Don Iovino Splash-It 3/8 oz. popper all morning. I had a backlash and as I was clearing it my line popped at a kink point. As I was pulling in the Splash-It by hand with the broken line, I caught a nice fatty. There was a guy in kayak really close by from Flower Mound and he witnessed the event. We laughed about it for a bit.

Yep....lakes were "glass smooth" this morning with a full moon and a sunrise.....all at once.

Majestic.

Oh.....and the fish were biting really good. That helps also.

It was a lot of fun Tom. While they were not big ones, they were plump and aggressive. I'll take that smile
