I have to say that we have an incredible fly fishing community here on TFF. Not only is it a terrific place to share information and such, but a great avenue to meet like minded folks that share a passion for fly fishing. My personal experience with the community has taken a life of its own, meaning that Knuckles and I have text and email conversation with folks weekly about fishing in various areas to meeting fellow fly fisherman on the water. I find this to be invaluable and grateful for having such a place to develop these contacts and ultimately friendships.

This past Friday, I had the opportunity to finally meet up with our one and only Capt. Mac and all I can say is, "fishing buddy and friend for life!" When we met it was like seeing an old friend and we immediately just picked up where we last left off. Granted we have communicated on the forum and via text messages before meeting face to face, but there was a brotherhood with smiles. Capt. Mac and I had an incredible day on the water, both sharing past experiences about life, fishing and whatever else came to mind....we still didn't scratch the surface. What was cool to me was to find another guy that simply wanted to share what he knew about fly fishing, got excited by watching someone nearly get the hit, and see the contagious experience of being on the water; we come from the same mold.

I guess my reasoning for sharing this is pretty simple really. We have a great resource here with many awesome folks; you would be crazy to not tap into this community and broaden your horizons! Needless to say, I am looking forward to my next fishing trip with Capt. Mac. smile

I have had the distinct pleasure of fishing with forum celebrity's and dignitaries, and even guys like me, for the last few years. Mostly because Robert Hunter keeps giving away my fishing secrets and, then, I gotta take somebody else fishing (inside joke and dripping with sarcasm). The truth is, about four years ago I ran into a forum member at a boat ramp. I didn't get his name because It was late in the afternoon and I didn't have much time. I was hurriedly trying to unload my boat as he was loading up his. We were discussing the results of our recent trips when he told me to check out this thing called the Texas Fishing Forum. I am forever grateful to this guy The form has been a wealth of knowledge, insight, laughter, joy and a whole lot of great people. People like Robert Hunter, Texasflycaster and FishyB just to name few. I followed these gentlemen on the forum for a long time, and considered them to be forum celebrities, before we ever fished together. These guys, as well as others, are some of the nicest, down to earth, willing to help, anti "celebrity type" dudes you'll ever meet and I'm proud to get to share time on the water and my time on the forum with all of them. we are all so lucky to have a "tool" for meeting great people with like minded pursuits and sharing knowledge about fish, places and experiences that used to only be available to people " in the business". I may not have a ton of money but I am wealthy beyond calculation from the friendships I have acquired thanks to the Texas Fishing Forum.

I haven't been here for very long, but I do love this forum. I have one other that I visit that's called turbobuick.com. I was a huge fan of the Buick V6 in my teens and dropped out of the car seen after I became an ASE tech. Just didn't have the time. The same happened with fly fishing. Started when I was 12 and have always kept my rods. Now that I'm in my 50's I discovered that I miss things like tying into a good fish on the fly rod, or making my lil ol buirk go down the track. Between here and turbobuick I've got friends that I haven't met, but hope to.

I'm on other forums that deal with the old turbo powered Buicks.;)

Hey wait a minute I just saw this. I explained I may know the pattern but not mine to give lmbo you gave it away lol 😊. Hey I'm just here to catch fish. I just tend to luck into a good fish or two along the way. Probably going to take when I have the dang three out when I need the eight it seems haha. We seem to have more traffic all the time hope lurkers are finally joining in. For those of you like me that pack a bow and or a gun in the field as well check out THF as well. Lots of good folks around here. Capt. We need to look at a fall red run! I promise the three won't make the trip.

I have been lucky to find multiple long term fishing friends on here. Many I've fished with for a number of years now in several states and for many species of fish.

I really like this forum. It's laid back, friendly, I've only seen a couple of negative posts.

Trash talk is tongue in cheek, there's no my equipment is better than yours, and most importantly no one makes fun of the dinky bass I post.

If it wasn't for dinks, I'd get skunked most of the time...
