Did a spur of the momemt trip to the lake. Tried of smelling lead fumes. Been catching fish in shallow for a long time. Not any there now. starting looking deep water humps ,points and ridges. Found them on a deep water hump. See picture below. I did a little experiment today. I fish most of the time with a chartues and white ole ugly slab. It is so successful I wonder sometime if I get in a rut and don't try other things. So I fished with two rods today one with a chartuese ole ugly slab and the other one with other colors of slabs and the chartuese and white beat them at least 3 to 1. So I guess I will stay in my rut. After found fish did my experiment and did not fish very long but it was fun. Hung around long enough to catch 52. Fish were found on a 24 to 26 ft. hump. Fall fishing pattern is here no body on the lake give me a call to get in on the great fall fishing. 817-597-6598 Johnny

Good point about getting used to a lure and not trying something else. But when you have had success for a long time it is very hard to change. You know me and know I try a lot of different lures, but tend to go back to my favorites. Looks like this fall is shaping up to be a winner. Thanks for the report.
