I recently got this damage from some east Texas "engineers" that figured marking stumps with re-bar was a good idea. I'm a little hesitant to claim this 3,600$ scratch in fear that I have only had the boat and insurance through American Reliable for 5 months. Should I expect repercussions from actually using my insurance so soon? My last boat and insurance, I had only one claim in 15 years so I don't have a lot of experience with my boat insurance. I had the gouge checked at Lake Fork Fiberglass, Mike said that it wasn't urgent, but advised to get it fixed eventually. Can I actually wait on a claim? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you don't fix it then you could get gel cost delamination. Not good...

Should be a no brainer. Call Insurance.
