I bought the download for Fork and for the price, I think that it was worth it. I don't trust it enough to run on plane through some of the areas but idling, it keeps me from knocking stumps. I liked the download because of no wait and it is on my computer to download onto the next sd card when I lose this one.

Just go ahead and get all 3 lakes. I did the download and it's not hard. It's worth it. There are some trails right thru areas with stumps that I will run to a certain lake level but I don't have the nuts to do it at lower levels.

Does it have trails going up into creeks or is it just main lake ?

Atleast on Fork, they go up into creeks and cut across the lake outside the buoyed lanes. For $20 it's worth it.

What about BoatLanes Sam Rayburn? The BoatLanes Sam Rayburn has trails from the Pavilion all the way up the three arms almost to the 87 and 103 highways with two passages thru the forests. These trail were made when the lake was between 5 and 7 foot low.

When the lake is 10 feet low, the chip will put you in stumps up around the 147 and above. If you were on the lake at that level, it was obvious where to run. THe original boat lanes were clearly visible through the trees above 147.

The Fork boat lanes chip is one of my most important things I have on the boat 2nd to the plug however. Over the years I have grown to have complete confidence in what Lance provides(many thanks) and when you primarily Fish @ night and sometimes move around at high speed it is nice to have some help that you trust. Going to Rayburn in Oct and I will be loading boat lanes first thing. So simple to load install chip..hit the pages button..go to files..highlight boat lanes.. import ..Done.

In order to catch Big Fish..Sometimes you gotta Suffer.

Just main lake except for Veach basin, it shows you how to run around the trees. It also has outlines of the forest and some small groups of trees and stuff. I trust it. If every lake had one I would buy it before heading out on it. Even on toledo I run the chip and let the bouys be a general guide because they get off on the Texas side.

Wouldn't trust boat lanes chip for running some of the non boat lane areas on Toledo. Just seen some sketchy stuff on a couple areas. Rayburn they are good always helpful to see the outlines of the amber and Black Forest

not trying to hijack here...I have had 2 units with the Lake Fork boat lanes and can say they have absolutely helped me save time moving around. With that being said, I recently installed an 1198. I purchased a boat lanes chip for it. Loaded the chip but I am having issues....the trail is not appearing as the large plot points. Not zooming in it appears that there is a trail there but once zooming the small dots of the trail disappear. I have tried going into Nav settings and setting it to use a bold line.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated...headed to Fork for the next four days and would really like to it loaded properly.

Mark

Mark the last time I installed boat lanes on my old 1197 they were just lines. I set them up so the lines would be bright red and easy to see. This was for toledo bend and rayburn maps I don't recall them being large waypoint style dots. Maybe contact the boatlanes people they have some customer service line and im sure they could help you out.
