I usually fish from my yak and launch out of Pilot Knoll.

Mostly fish for bass but I want to try for some cats. Is that a good area for catfish at all? You can feel free to PM me.

Not looking for any honey holes just tips on cat-fishing in that are. Thanks!

Might try around the oak point ramp area. Decent yak launching there.

I haven't fished the yak much recently but when the waters cool off I like putting in at Shady Shores and drifting around. Caught me a 30lber out there this spring. Its mostly a 14-16ft flat, with a few areas to focus on. Recently we've been in deeper water though.

Make sure and bungee or secure your rods to your kayak somehow or you may lose a setup!

Thanks for the tips guys... I guess that area I have been putting in is not the hot spot for cats.

Plan to spend some time this winter really learning to get them if possible.

Lake Park would be a good area to launch and drift when the boat traffic is light. Some good blues can be caught not far from the shore in that area. Drift south from the dam along the ledges and river channel. You can also drift some humps in that area as well.

^^ agree.. but like Jacky said boat traffic can be troublesome off Lake Park. Do you have a FF?

They have 2 boat ramps and lots of shoreline close to parking. I catch a lot of fish on the ledge straight out from the playground. You can't miss the playground.
