I'm going to visit a buddy in Tulsa in a couple of weeks and was wondering if there are any good fishing holes around there. I'm trying to talk him in to finding somewhere we can camp out by the water somewhere, but he just moved up there and doesn't really know the area. I've never fished outside of Texas so I figured I'd haul my kayak up there and try to catch a fish or two in between beers. I've been told Broken Bow has great views, but couldn't find too much info on fishing. We're really just looking to get outside for the weekend, drink some beer, and catch a few fish.

Broken Bow lake, McGee Creek Lake and Pine Creek Lake are good lakes but 2 hours south of Tulsa..Lake Eufaula is closer to Tulsa but it's a huge lake and I know very little about it

Lots of lakes with in an hour drive of Tulsa. Keystone, Skiatook, Oologah, Grand, Ft Gibson, Tenkiller, Eufaula, etc. Broken Bow is going to be too far for a day trip. I would recommend either Okmulgee Lake or Dripping Springs. I used to fish them a lot when I lived in Tulsa. They are less than an hour south of Tulsa. Both have camping spots on the water and are small city lakes with good fish. Dripping Springs used to be a trophy bass lake before they made it a State Park. I think it's back under the City's management again. http://www.travelok.com/listings/view.profile/id.5520
