We are probably a good month or two away from fall here in central Texas but wondering what the "fall pattern" usually entails? Do the crappie move off brush piles And suspend on flats and opening of creek channels and points or do they just go to deep river channels on the main lake? Any advice or personal experience appreciated.

think of fall as the second spring, they tend to go shallow to feed, shad spawn in spring and fall often, start shallow and work deeper. you will catch some whoppers, but not usually a bunch off one pile, stick and move. when you start seeing all small fish on the piles, thats abt it, they are the last to leave the piles in fall and first to return in spring. . Then you want to start looking near the mouth of major creek channels and rivers that lead to spawning areas, and deep water winter haunts. they will be following the shad around and can move ALOT in short periods. sometimes they will empty out of the creeks and go all the way back into the mouth in the main lake, then a few days later, they go back down the creek, follow the baitfish. every lake is different but locating baitfish is key. diving birds can be very helpful.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

leanin post is sure right, and the best way to fish after the water cools down about Nov. is to forget the boat. Its time for the waders again and I have always done best in late afternoon. I have always liked Oct. and Nov. fishing best of the year,
