I have come up with 2 saying that will always be in my head when bass fishing..

"Be willing to throw where others won't and you'll catch fish others dont"

"Never caught a fish with my lure out the water"

"Be willing to throw where others won't and you'll catch fish others dont"

"Never caught a fish with my lure out of the water"

Guido Hibdon said one time fishing some heavy cover... "I'll worry about getting em in when I get em on "... And one of my favorites from Hank Parker " if you want to improve your fishing 100%, quit you job "...lol

I don't think either one of those sayings are original, heard those things for years, heck I've even read them in books.

Maybe you can lay claim to the "you have to put your bait where the fish are" too?

Dry lures catch no fish. One of my favorite lines for years.

I heard it when I was young from a pro on TV that you have to get them to bite first, then worry about getting them in. That's how I go about it now. It always stuck with me

We all stumble and make mistakes. When you stumble, do you want your brother to help knock you down or to help set you back on your feet?

That's why it's called fishing and not catching.

I've always heard of "Drug store cowboys", now I'm beginning to think there are "TFF Bassers", anyone that has been a member for a short time and has thousands of posts aren't spending much time wetting lures.

My dad always used to tell me when I was learning.... "Hook sets are free". And "when in doubt, knock em out!"

My dad used to tell me all the time that you cant catch a fish if your lure isn't in the water. I've caught about a half dozen fish over the years taking a wizzz. A word of caution, stop before you set the hook.
