Just wondering what you guys all think of what happened yesterday on the water on the final day of the Elite tourney on the Miss? At 9:30 Ott had no fish in the well and ran into Swindle. Swindle tells him about a bank that has smallies on it and Ott took the info and went to that bank and caught 2 keeper fish. Who knows what would have happened if Swindle didn't give Ott that info but to me that just seems a little wrong. I mean they can't get info from outside sources but yet you can received info on the water the day of a tourney from a competitor. I will say that I am a little bias because I am from the Minneapolis/St. Paul where Seth Feider is from and I was hoping he could pull this one off. That info that Swindle gave Ott possibly cost Seth Feider $100K. But again who knows what would have happened if Swindle wouldn't have said anything. But to me, if you're competing at that high of a level, you need to find your own fish. Seth certainly did. But like I said I am little bias and Seth got 2nd which is amazing and punched his ticket to the AOY on his home water of Mille Lacs. Just looking for other peoples opinion on the matter. I can see both sides here.

I think what Swindle did was pretty classy. You're biased, not bias.

I think it was classy and have zero problem with it.

I do think it was a classy move on Swindles part I just don't think it should be allowed. Clausen got DQ'd for a whole lot less info than what Ott got.

I think it occurs more often that you think. I would think any fish info he had was that good, Swindle would have been fishing himself it to lock up AOY for sure.

The area Swindle told Ott about was on the Minnesota side of the river and you can't cull there. Swindle already had 5 in the well so it couldn't fish it anymore.

But like I said I am a little BIASED and wanted Seth to win. Not taking anything away from Ott because the dude knows how to fish and had a great tourney. It was definitely a long time coming for Ott.

And yeah from what I've heard, there are a lot of guys out there that give info to their friends on the water. Bobby Lane was talking about how him and Chris exchange info quite a bit.

It's all perfectly legal....they both were entered in the tournament.....if Swindle wasn't....then I'd have a problem.....I, personally, know Ott......he wouldn't have let someone give him info, who wasn't in the tournament....

I thought it was just good sportsmanship helping a competitor. Ott looked like he really needed it to me. He was spinning out before he caught his first fish. With that said it could have cost feiderman his first victory.

Enough rules(big government) in tournament fishing and life itself. Do we need to set regulations on how much the competitors talk/share during the competitions also? No. It was a class act but more common place than you realize. Most of those guys are a pretty tight knitted community. Most of them.

I love that these guys share info. They are much nicer and human about it than the local yokels fishing for a couple grand.
