Taking an old friend who lives in Austin fishing the weekend of Oct 28. I live in Dallas and fish primarily East Texas lakes. Could anyone be so kind as to point me toward some productive Central Texas bass lakes....not asking for your honey holes just a few places to start researching.

Lake Bastrop or Lake Austin would be the best in my opinion...

Both hold great fish..

Good luck!

Travis or LBJ. Travis for numbers, LBJ for size.

What's known of Lake Dunlap? I fished it a little bit this weekend. Had never been on it. For the little bit of fishing I did, I was impressed. Caught several good quality fish, and they all pulled like tanks! I saw the lake record was over 14lbs as well. It all made me want to go back, but I never hear anything about that lake.

I have not been but from my readings on it, it's either on or it's completely off. There have been some awesome tournament bags from it. Scroll through the freshwater reports page and you should find a little bit of info, been a while since a post was made though.
