Any idea? Local Walmart no longer has them since summer is basically over.
Where else should I check?
Making noodle jugs.
Thanks.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Pool stores will probably jack up the price. Didn't think about dollar stores.
Too clarify though any color is ok except orange now right? I don't have my book with me right now.
Thanks all!

Orange is for commercial use only. If your ever in Taylor, the Wal Mart there had some of those already rigged foam floats with the metal rod running through them. Just add hook and line to them. They are not as good ad the home made ones, but they work.

When making my jugs I used Closed Cell Foam "Backer Rods" - very dense foam. Good stuff. I got it from a place called SSI in Dallas (not sure where you are). I beleive they may have other locations.

Backer rods are not hollow. How do you use them?

For simple free-floating ones I do them like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdG3T0I6Pd8The only thing I do differently is put some reflective tape on there so they are easier to find since they have a tendency to swim away. For the flagging ones, the jugs that pop-up when bit, I use 9" of backer rod and drill/force a hole down the middle with a knife honing steel. It just bores a hole down the middle of the backer rod. I go about 1/2 way then do the same from the other side. I will stick my middle finger in there from both sides to stretch it out a bit after. Then you can put the pvc down thru there pretty easily.
