too many fishermen, too many fish brought in -- first world problem. Well done everyone, this was a big success for almost everyone - live and learn and get bigger and better next year.

We also had a fish we had to pre-cull before our limit because of bleeding. Ended up swimming off, never saw it floating... Still wouldn't have been enough to cash. However, the one that stole my yellow magic... If you catch a fish with a bone yellow magic (both trebles) in it's mouth, please reinforce that it was a slot and not a 3lb under!
Improving weigh-in... Yes, flights returns. However that makes a trailering tournament a little less "fair". You could stagger first casts, or you could have a common stop fishing with a staggered weigh in.
Multiple weigh-in lines.
Continually announcing the low end of limit and big bass payouts.
A faster scale, it took forever for that thing to zero in on weight.
More bump tanks and working aerators.
"Pick a number" - have one team member pick the next number for weighing order, and call up 10-15 teams at a time. This keeps the fish in the live well and not carrying back/forth.

One thing we had to do when we do a trailering event or any event it only put out 25 bags. The anglers have to use our bags. It is much better to leave the fish in the live wells while you wait for a bag, does it upset people that are wanting to weigh in and go. Yes it will. It actually isn't to bad. This helps our group a lot .
All you can do is learn from the experience and adapt in the future.

My son and I have fished this for several years. Great tournament great cause. Free beer, drinks and water. Food is good. Just please more water tanks with areators and shade. Improved preparation for weigh-in and better fish care after the fish are weighed. Good family event.
Support the sport. Take your kids fishing.

Yes there were a lots of dead fish due to the long lines. But the good news about that was that none of the dead fish brought to the live release boat were wasted. All were iced and filet and will be eaten. 12 more floating dead ones counted today out from the island half-way between ramp and dam. You should have filleted them all.

Not questioning whether or not the tournament benefited a great cause or not but anytime there is a fishkill afterwards is not good at all. This type of deal just ruins a great fishery.

Thanks Bruce - I know you saw the worst of it and the best. We heard all the comments and it's not acceptable to us either. You can bet we will fix it.

Wonder if an hourly payout format would work?

most poorly ran tournament i have ever seen, but guess this media bass is kinda new on putting on tournaments. yep great cause, but with great loss tournaments like this and tournament fishing on fork will only go down hill. very sad to see possible hundred+ fish die... my apologies didn't know media didn't run it. sorry just woke up from under my rock guess u guess are grumpy cause you drive rangers get a skeeter and chill out....

I fished this tournament for the first 8 to 10 years and quit because it seemed there were some issues about every other year or so. It appears to have really grown and gotten popular. Hopefully they can get the organization and running caught up with the growing size of the tournament. Good luck.

Media Bass did not run this tournament, they simply donated their weigh in equipment for the cause. Media runs a great event, don't blame them. I will donate money in the future because I believe in what they are doing but I will not fish this tournament again for may reasons not just the amount of fish that died. They have to get a true tournament director that actually measures the fish close to the slot and not weigh in a big bass for every sack weighed in. I saw countless 1lb fish weighed in for big bass? Again great cause but many problems.

If the slot limit theory is correct, this will only help the fishery.
Kudos to the folks who put this on. I'm not big on criticizing people doing things for a good cause. Mistakes may have been made but I care more about the people it helped than the fish that died. Net positive IMO.

I vote for handing out only 20 or so weigh bags and let the fish stay in the boat until you get a bag.

Sour beer face all around the weigh in!! Where in the world do they come up with the beer. I now it's probably donated, but does someone do a taste test. WHOA NELLIE!!!!! The JELLO-SHOTS were fantastic, and there was plenty of them. I'll be back next year for sure!
