sashimi, tatake, poke, seared, smoked, tuna salad, tuna casserole, tuna taco's........

the sky's the limit, man. pm MarkK for an EXCELLENT smoked blackfin recipe. think its posted on 360tuna.com, for that matter.

if the fish was bled & chilled properly, blackfin is close to yellowfin in quality.
Don't expose it to fresh/tapwater.

congrats on a great catch

Blackfin tuna are great.

My strategy is to take the steaks, marinade them in a large bowl overnight (in the fridge) using a mixture of white wine, a few tablespoons of soy sauce, and a few tablespoons of honey.

Then I throw them on the grill long enough to sear the outside while keeping the inside almost raw.

I need to try that! Thanks.

Side Note. Usually just grill them over foil after putting a little teriyaki sauce over them. The smoke and teriyaki flavor is fantastic.
