But still a
GREAT morning to be on the water!!!
All started while drinking coffee on the porch this morning, Belinda looked out at the lake,
turn to me and asked "And why are we not catching fish this morning", then winked at me.
She had me at "And Why", but the wink sealed the deal
Launched at Popes Landing at 8:30, eased out to a submerged leaning tree and started.
I caught a dink 1st, then a good'un
Before I could get the hook out, Belinda swung one over the side
We caught 9 keepers off that tree, the whole while I could feel the eyes of 2 ladies that were fishing under the covered slips
burning holes in my back
While in route to the next spot I wanted to fish, passed over a bp in 16 fow on a point,
We caught 5 nice ones there.
Idled on to the spot I wanted to fish, made 2 passes over it, but it was bare, so we idled to the next spot I wanted to fish,
Here's what it looked like
Not sure how many we caught there, but once the bite slowed down, we idled out to another submerged tree in 30 fow,
It was
LOADED!!! Belinda caught BFOD there
After a bit, I told Belinda that I was done, left them biting.....
Idled out to the boat lane, jumped up on plane just as Stubby passed us, we both circled around and visited for a bit.
Stubby had been out sticking whiskered fish.
After visiting with Stubby, we idled over and visited with Danny Kemp, President of the Williams Creek Crappie Club.
Danny and his partner were pulling crappie up out of a bp.
The bite is very good here on Fork right now in the mornings (only time I've been out lately), Belinda & I caught 32 and never left Big Mustang.
Didn't jump on plane till time to leave
We had a couple of spots directly across the lake from where we were that we wanted to fish, but ran out of time........
Excuse to go out again
