Just saw a flyer for this trail starting up next year. The format is interesting. I haven't seen it mentioned on the TFF yet. They have a standard weigh-in halfway through the day, then the top 10 from that weigh-in go back out and fish MLF style the rest of the day. Going to some good lakes. I won't be fishing it, just curious if it is going to have a turnout and who's heard of it.

I didn't see a link on the flyer. Just some phone numbers. Also said they were on facebook. The name of the trail was "Texas Major League Fishing."

I grabbed a flyer for TXMLF while in tube Minnow Bucket the other day and yes they're fishing the best bass lakes in TX. Curious as to whether or not they are adapting the MLF format. If they are this will be a great tournament trail to fish. No need to worry about slot limits, because they don't matter. All fish above 12in count. If this is the case it will be awesome.

It is the case, but only if you make the top 10 at the early weigh-in.

Sounds cool haven't heard anything about it. Wish it was individual and not team.

By the looks of their logo doesn't look like they are affiliated with MLF, I'd guess they get a cease and desist order about using that name shortly.

From how the flyer reads, it sounds like you fish for a 5 fish stringer just like a normal tournament, but the weigh-in is earlier like noonish? The top 10 bags then get to fish the rest of the day for the money in an MLF style shootout. I like certain aspects of this but at the same time I don't. I guess all they could find was 10 marshals.. Seeing their turnout should be interesting.

With this format they will still be hampered by Slot Lake limits. Only the afternoon portion would get around that problem. You can't weigh in any fish in the slot for the noon weigh in.

Hard to take it serious with a 200$ entry and a short payout while they drag you all over the state to do it. It is an interesting format though..
