Were you fishing by yourself? If so I remember seeing you. We caught 2 of the better ones right after we saw you.

Yes I was solo. Guess I scared them all your way. Lol. I will probably go for a few hours tomorrow too. Trying to loosen up this surgically repaired shoulder.

Fluke no weight

Thanks for the tip. Yesterday I caught a lot of bass but no size. This morning was the same - lots of bass but small until I switched to a weightless fluke. I caught a couple like this one that was just under 4 lbs. and a few more that were a little smaller.

It was a beautiful day and the bass are being aggressive but I was surprised at how few boats I saw.

I was out there around the ramp this morning til around 11AM. Fished mainly the west side of the RR bridge today. There were three kayakers fishing in that area and I saw another angler in an aluminum V and one west of the bridge along the north shore line. It was kind of sparse for sure. All of my fish came on a Don Iovine Splash-It and they were dinks. I need to learn to fish a Fluke. I threw some plastics and jigs as the top water bite died off but nada. Looks like you did pretty good on that fluke.

now that my tournament is over, the fish in Buck have been aggressive for the past two weeks. we had a good bite in the scattered green willows on the south shore of buck from the 377 to the old road bed to the east. the front and north wind slowed it a bit, they hit but just were not eating. we worked the eastside of 377 rip rap very slowly and caught a lot of small ones at a few keepers in the 16 inch range. other areas that were producing but slowed with the north wind were from big bass point to the mouth of clarks creek, the back of stirrup cove at the old road bed, and the south shore of isle du bios at the old brewer road. I've been throwing a green swim jig and my partner threw spinnerbaits and split shot senkos.

trickster if your cat is black and yellow we saw you when leaving the area in the morning and when we came back at 1 pm. if you didn't do it during your time go further to the north on the road rip rap and fish the south section

I wonder how the OP did?

There should be a rule that if you ask for info for your up coming trip and guys give you info you need to have a follow up post... at least so we know who had the right tips ha ha.

The bass were schooling today. Caught about 30. They were all small 9" to 14". I don't know if they were this years spawn or last years. Nothing large, but a fun afternoon catching the bass. They are on the feed. Their stomaches were full and bloated. They are schooling where the wind is driving the baitfish (windblown pockets). If memory serves me correctly, this happens every September and can run well into October.

The bass were active again on Monday. I caught my first Whopper Plopper bass but the flukes were the only baits that I caught any bass larger than schoolers.

Idle out for sure, and maybe everwhere north of Wolf Island to be safe. Weightless fluke, jig and crank at would be my first 3 choices.

That was us. We fished all the riprap on 377 if that is what your are talking about. The better fish came on the NW corner of the bridge and on the E middle section of 377 riprap, north side of the brigde. There were a lot of dinks in the small cut on the far NW Riprap of 377.

Heading out tomorrow late morning. Not sure if im going to put in at IDB or Buck. Just got a boat and learning RAy Roberts. Not sure what's safe to run. I know Buck isn't, unless you know it. That has me thinking IDB. Anyway, would love to meet up with any of you if you're out there tomorrow.

I like to launch at Jordan Park most of the time. It is in between Buck Creek and IDB ramps. Be careful once you get near Wolf Island to the northeast. Anything south of there is really very safe from what i have found.
