Orange must be really shelling out some cash to get these tournaments. With the new 12" limit it's going to be a total dink fest. I wish TPWD would start putting some more in to getting the system better. What I don't like is guys running to say Taylor's and cleaning small areas out. Those fish never make it back and it can literally kill a whole area because there isn't ant stocking.

Yeah, wish I was confident enough to cut my day in half by running for 4 hours each day.

I'd imagine it stabilizes from year to year as fish make small pushes to new water.

I grew up on Taylor's and Hillebrandt Bayou. That fishery has never really changed except the tidal surge from the last hurricane that hurt the fishing a few years. It has productive areas you just have to know where the unproductive water is which is a lot.

It has a lot of unproductive water and a lot of good spots change from year to year but there are some that always hold fish. The last hurricane put a real hurt on it and they did stock a few bass afterward but not enough I don't think. They did stock a bunch of bream one time but it was supposedly during a big red run and they wouldn't open the gates to let the reds back out and they pretty much demolished all of that. There has been a lot of construction which has the water color muddy most of the time. Just a lot of factors working against it it seems. Not to mention the dump right beside it, sure there's no chemicals getting thru. On the bright side, the Sabine is getting some fish.

O yea??? Dink fest you say????

Please.....and I mean pretty please......come down here thinking its a dink fest!!!!

I will gladly take your money....

Some of the local tournaments are putting up some big numbers (9-15lbs) 3 fish limits mind you....

But like I said come on down....

(Please note this is in all good fun....not meaning to offend anyone in any way ,shape, or form)

But I am really looking forward to next years schedule.

Should be entertaining.....lots of bass will come to the scales. I grew up on the Sabine and you can always catch fish but sometimes it is tough to catch the bigger bass. But I mainly fish the actual Sabine river and don't venture East or West. Sometimes I fish in Louisiana around the old 90 area or Big Bayou.
