Does anyone else have this problem? It has happened on all boats I have owned at one time or another . The little black strip of rubber that acts as a seal I guess always seems to come up and not stay attached. It looks as though they are glued down but not very well. Does any one else have problems with this and how can I correct it. I have a champion now and used to have a legend so im thinking they should not come up that easily. When I get new baits etc im always having to work around the sagging pieces that are in the way.

same here. i've always put 3/4" door weatherstripping from lowes on the bottom side of the lid. clean the surface with acetone before sticking it down and it will last a couple of seasons and is easy to replace.

I bought mine from Austin Hardware & Supply. Took some careful looking to match up what I needed but it worked great and lids don't leak anymore.

I use Contact Cement, and have done it in several areas where the seal came apart. So far it has worked well to keep them together.

I recently bought a 3 horse slant load trailer and the seals on the doors and windows uses a seal like what you are describing its called TrimLock. It's designed to not use glue the trim mounts to the doors of the horse trailer like on boats but this has a thin metal strip inside it to hold it in place without glue. Take a look at Trim Lock. You can order it to fit the thickness of the compartment doors. Glue would be easier and a lot cheaper but this stuff holds in place very tight without glue.
