I'm always looking for the next Adventures at a new lake. Looking at TPWD stocking history they stock Lake Colorado heavily with hybrids fingerlings. More than any other lakes. What's the reason ??? I want to check out that lake when them fingerlings all grown up.

Had too google to find out where is Lake Colorado. Pretty long haul from Houston. I guess Conroe is too crowded for ya? Cuz the hybrids there were loaded my first time there with guide Michael Richardson back in May. Lots of structures on Conroe, And was told not too many folks target hybrids there?

Been there done it at Conroe. One of best Lake for dead sticking. I've drive 8 time 650 miles each way up to Arkansas this year already. I think I'm use to driving already. Like I said it's an Adventure. So I don't mind driving. On the road with my boy makes the long drive short and all worth while. He goes 99.9% on every trip. This little boy been fishing since 3 years old. He probably got like 10,000 hours of fishing already. LOL!! OK not 10 thou but A LOT.

Chris Richardson/Michael was one of my teacher.

Never been there till I seen it's got some major stocking of hybrids from TPWD. Google it on map quest. Its on the far west side of Texas. It's also got a web site on the i net.7 hours for me to get there. I can be there fish Saturday and be home by Monday.

You can bet your socks I'm gonna be there. I still got Ouachita to re visit some time soon Sea Pro Todd. I'm very confident I can find some of those BIG BIG BIG STRIPERS. Planning a winter trip back there.

I looked, only one I could see was Lake Colorado City, which is only like 23% full now. I wouldn't have thought they would stock it that heavily when it is at that capacity. TPWD site is strange too. It shows no fish stocked in Colorado City Lake, but when you look it up by species, it shows them stocked by simply Colorado? hmmm

Maybe some one was drinking when they punch in those numbers. Any way my mistake. They dump that lake full of hybrids fry in 2015 and 2016. So im thinking another year or so before hybrids are leagal sizes ?

OK so I call the state park and she confirmed the lake is at 23% capacity. All the boat ramp is dry out not launchable. Only kayaks and canoes can be carry over to the water line. No stocking of any fish to her knowledge. Golden algae bloom in 2016 killed a bunch of fish. Dang TPWD. They must went over to the State of Colorado and stock their lakes.

Bruce! man I love to see that boy of yours putting fish in the boat. I think you've been all around Texas and Arkansas the past couple of years since you went with us on our first guided trip on Lake Livingston. You're one fish catching dude and your son has a million dollar smile!

Bring him down this weekend and I'll put ya'll on some big bull reds! I'm going to have some guys down at crystal beach sat-tues

Ha!! Thanks Chirs. I don't think my boy is ready for bull fighting yet. That 30" striper we caught last almost pull him over board. He's 10 but got the body of a 7 year old. He eats like a normal kid but just all bone and skin.

I wish Lavon was a state park. Then they would stock Hybrids there too. Cooper and this lake you are talking about are state park lakes. They seem to stock a lot of hybrids in these two lakes that are in bad shape. Good luck when you go smile

Keith smile
