I had a customer tell me recently that there is a bass fishing tournament on Lake Corpus Christi. I have been out there twice and everything I see is either catfish or gar. I have only spent a total of 4 or 5 hours on that lake but I haven't pulled a single bass out of it.

Did the bass population grow in the last two years or have I just not spent enough time on that lake? I live in Corpus and I have to go all the way to Coleto or Falcon. It would be nice to have something near by I can go hit in the afternoons.

Pat with South Texas Marine and I have come up with a 6 tournament series that we believe will be fun for all! These tournaments will be out of the State Park north ramp. Fishing time will be from 5pm and must check in no later than 8:30pm. This is a Friday evening series and would love to see a lot of participation! We know for sure that we will host a minimum of 10.

I will be at the ramp at 4:30pm to collect registration. CASH ONLY! This is an "On Your Honor" tournament. You can put in anywhere on the lake, you just must register between 4:30 and 5pm at the State Park ramp.

This will be a 3 fish limit and its hot you guys so use your fish care expertise!

We will have some hot dogs and drinks at weigh-in in order to get to know each other!

Schedule:
August 19th
August 26th
September 9th
September 23rd
October 7th
October 21st

Entry Fees:
$ 20.00 per tournament.....with 10 participants or less pays two places
70% for 1st......30% for 2nd
With 11 participants or more pays three places
50% for 1st...30% for 2nd...20% for 3rd
$5.00 entry (optional) for big bass.....100% payout to biggest bass

Rules: This is an "On Your Honor" tournament designed to have some fun, build friendships and win a little money. Typical bass tournament rules apply. Be respectful, have fun! Although a dead fish CANNOT be weighed in for big fish and a dead fish will cost a 1/2 LB. PENALTY. All final decisions will be made by Pat Ball and myself.

Please PM me your name, email, and phone number if you will attend, have any questions or have any ideas to me. Other than that; State Park, North ramp, Registration from 4:30 to 5pm. See ya there!
God bless
Robert

Back in the 80's when I lived in Corpus, I fished a lot of tournaments on Lake C.C. I havent fished it in years, I think one time 2008 for an hr or two on my way to Falcon.

I bet it still has some good fish in it.

Thanks, Billy

Thanks for the info. I'll have to go out and learn the lake so I can come out and fish with you all! See you soon!
