I was given one of the jigs by Nutech in a TFF give away post. I've intentionally tried to lose it and have thrown it in the nastiest stuff I've seen. I've managed to snag it once or twice but have got it back every time. These are as awesome as I thought they'd be when I first saw the videos.

I managed to lose the football head they gave me by wrapping it up in a dock. All the others I have been unable to lose.

Three new sizes in the Elite Series GrassJig will also be here in about 4 weeks. A 3/8, 1/2 and 1 oz. will be added to the line up.

? for Mr. Bo James...How does the hook up ratio with the short shank of the trokar compare to that of say an Owner/Gammy/Mustad jig hook in same 4/0 size with this "grass jig". The trokar jig hooks have a shorter shank and from the looks of the pictures shown above the hook point looks relatively close to the weed guards. The hook eye and point are pretty close together in comparison to the same jig head with any other hook combo. Looks like less gap for less hookup. I feel that you wont "lose" the jig but sacrifice hook-up just for that very reason. I'm sure you guys have done your research on why you chose trokar over any other hook for this jig head as you have some very informative videos. Thanks for clearing it up.

the distance from the hook point to the eyelet is the same distance as the owner, gammy, mustad 5/0 jig hooks. actually something than many do not know or even look at when comparing the difference in a 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0 jig hook, is the fact that they are exactly the same from hook shank up to the hook point, and the same from hook point to the eyelet. the difference is from the hook point to the bottom of the bend. that distance increases with the size of the hook.
the trokar i designed for the Elite Series is made of much heavier wire, and has somewhat of a modified o'shaughnesee bend to strengthen the throat of the hook to keep it from flexing during the hooking process. also, the hook is designed with a much better bite angle and will not require any tweaking. forgot to mention the Elite Series hook is a 5/0.
hope this might answer some of your questions. this hook is a beast and will hold up even to my hook set.

Caught my first jig bass on a NuTech. I keep the black and blue in hot stand by. Really good stuff. Those guards don't bother the fish.

Thanks for clearing it up. hope that you read my explanation to your questions and find them satisfactory. just curious as to why you would think that an eagle claw jig hook has a shorter shank than another brand? as i explained, you can take a gammy, mustad, and an eagle claw 60 degree bend jig hook, and they are all the same distance from the hook point to the eyelet. also, wanted to clarify for you that any Elite Series including the GrassJig has a 5/0 size hook. bo
