I teach high school and was thinking of taking some city kids with no outdoor experience to Woldert Park in Tyler. It is one of the neighborhood fishing lakes the state stocks with eating sized catfish. They are supposed to start up the stocking program again on 9/15 since the heat of Aug will have past. Has anyone fished this place? It isn't very big, maybe 2 acres, and I don't know how hard it gets hit or how crowded it gets. I want the kids to have a good experience and hopefully top take a fish or two home but I've never hit it myself. I contacted the ranger in charge and he gave me some general info but I'd like the viewpoint of someone that has actually cast a bait into it.
