Right now I am fishing mono on baitcast reels fishing for catfish in flooded timber.I fish about the first 20Ft of the line, no casting. After about three days my mono (stren) line starts to look like a cork screw and the slip float doesn't slide as well. Would copolymer work better and less memory?

You might give either P-line or McCoy's mean green line a try. Both are co-polymer which is supposed to have less memory. I have been pretty happy with the P-line, but haven't tried the McCoys. You might also consider using a braided line, virtually no memory.

Good luck,

Thanks I gave the braid a try but could not keep it from the frizzies when I cut it and one of those little slip cork beads would not go on the line after I cut it.

Get a Boomerang tool to cut braid.

If you have problems after that try doubling the braid up to run it though the bead.

I like p-line flouroclear for copolymer. I use it on my crank bait rods.

Mean green is a good line, but is a little high. But still good line.

I am now trying out the P-Line CXX in 15 lb test. Tough line, little bit stiff but okay.

P-Line Flouroclear is all I have been using. Strong line and I use line conditioner.

Do a google search for yo Zuri hybrid. It has a cult following for a reason. Great line, easy on the pocketbook too.

Imo: I would stay away from all co lines. Berkeley big game is a great all purpose mono.
