 Pending State Record Triple Tail on a Fly Rod

Clay Sheward of Houston called me and said he may have a New State Record Triple Tail using his "Hardy" Fly Rod. He was fishing West Galveston Bay when he landed the fish. The present record is 8.63# caught in Aransas Pass,Tx in 2011. Clays fish weighed 9.52# on my Pro Tournament H2 Series Cert.Scale. The girth measured 20 1/4" and was 22 1/2" in length. The rod used was a Hardy Zephrus 9wt rod....using a hand tied fly called a "Buggywhippin Special". Pending verification, their may be a NEW State Record on a Fly Rod.
