i caught a 10 lb+ cat n my canal behind the house on LBJ perch fishin'...finally got'm up 2 c him and he was grayish white...not the average color of a blue, not a channel, not a flathead...any ideas??????????

Blue cats come in a variety of colors from blue to black to grey. I have even caught a bright white bodied blue catfish that had dark black spots on all its fins. Had to ask my guide buddy Steve Shiele what the heck it was. He called it a piebald blue catfish and said they are the rarest of all catfish in North America...you fish long enough you are going to see some weird [censored].

Most likely a blue cat. I've caught them with color from gray to a beautiful dark blue. All in the same spot before.

Caught many white colored blues in shallow water
If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

thank yawl...after thinkin' about his head, i agree...it was about 4-5 inches between the eyes...and i ain't sheetin' ya either...what a pull

In lake Wright Patman you can catch a channel or a blue on one side of the lake and they will be darker blue/black look and on the other side next to the Sulphur River and they will be a smoky gray depending on the water color muddy and more clear.
