I've been told to never use soap on boat carpet, can make the new formula of carpet glue they use fail and carpet pull up. Use a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar and a good scrub brush.

I put 2 cups of white vinegar in a pump up sprayer with hot water, I sprayed the carpet in sections. I scrubbed each part of the deck with a soft carwash brush then sprayed it with the water hose and vacuumed it all real well with my wet dry vac. Once I was done with all 3 sections I vacuumed it again. Pulled it out of the garage and let it dry in the sun for a bit. came out real nice.

I have used simple green and then take it to the carwash for years. No problem yet. Don't get too close with the wand.

I just use the car wash. I don't squeeze the handle. Keep it on rinse. The water is normally hot enough to break up the packed in dirt/grime. Then use a wet vac
After the wet vac about 1-2 times a year I will spray deluted fabric softener on it then use a deck brush to lift the carpet. Done so by brushing against the grain. This has worked great for me for years.
I do the same thing once a year. Find a car wash with an angle on it. To make it really work make sure you remove your plug, disconnect your boat and raise the front up as high as you can, gravity will drain all the water. You will be surprise how dirty your carpet get. This is also a good time to clean out the rear batter battery compartment, the nozzle allows you to clean tight areas without doing damage to the wiring or other components fill your live well up and clean them out. Last but not least, the draw back is the high pressure water remove all grease, so make sure you lube you jack plate, and all movable areas on you trailer that require grease
