And sometimes there's just too much bait to compete with. If a spook, fluke, or jerk bait won't get it done, I roll on.

Clear tiny torpedo (rip it) and the fast Sammy mentioned above, or other topwater with an erratic action. 6 or 8 pound test mono. Do you have any small flutter spoons?

they will let the old timers fish as long as they can pay the entries.

Wrong thread and no they won't. New qualifying structure in the Elites. I guess you've forgotten that Zell Rowland got the boot prior to the 2016 season? No, he wasn't fishing well enough the past few seasons to re-qualify for the 2016 season under the new qualifying rules, but he could have paid the entries, he's an "old timer" and a "legend" in the sport.

Sounds like more of an error in presentation than lure selection. In that situation if you think you're working it fast enough, work it faster!

Wacky rig finesse worm watermelon seed on a 1/16oz jighead. Let it fall to the bottom before twitching it

I ran into a similar situation on Joe Pool a few years back--I saw some of the dead shad they were tearing into and they were SMALL--maybe an inch and half. I put a tiny rattletrap (1/8 oz) on which I had changed to larger hooks and added little strips of lead to. Result was 60 fish or so in about an hour--mostly small back bass, but a few sandies mixed in.

Same scenario happened to me on RR...I threw Booyah Pad Crusher...caught and landed 13 fish.
Fish up to 3 1/2 lbs. Cricket Frog color...they would eat it!

Update:

Conditions were a bit different this AM. Overcast and windy. Water Temp81.

Caught three blacks. Two on Pointer 78 one on Shad Rap. Caught three white bass and yellow bass on small chatter bait.

No luck on dual fluke set up.
