Saturday 8/27 Caught 38: 35 whites, a legal hybrid, a cat and a keeper yellow bass. Went out about 1:30PM and went straight to Iron Wall Hump. Caught 10 whites and left to check out Spillway Hump. Weather threatened so went back south to Kevin's Point and caught 15 more whites. Last stop was Saint Annes West and caught another 10 whites before quitting. Fish at Iron Wall were in 22 fow. At the other spots they were in 15 fow. CAught em on a #2 silver Mepps with weight added up the line to make it cast easier and cause it to sink faster.

Monday 8/29: Caught 41: 35 whites and 6 others including one legal and one short hybrid. Went out about 2PM and caught them at Saint Annes Point East, Swingset Hump and Carolyn Estates Point in 12 to 15 fow and at Iron Wall Hump in 22 fow. All caught on #2 Mepps.

Tuesday 8/30: Went out at 11:35Am and headed north to try different area of the lake. First stop was Enchanted Isle Ridge. In 19 to 20 fow I caught 4: 2 whites, a legal hybrid and a 24 lb buffalo (pic s below). I marked schools of whites there but they were moving around too fast to set up on them. Next went to The Tennis Courts but didn't see much. Then to Sunken Island, where I marked fish in 3 spots. Fished the 1st place I marked them and left when I got to 25 whites. Fish were hugging bottom in 13 fow. Next stop was Game Warden Hump and it was covered with fish. Caught 10 whites there in 15 fow and left to head back south. Checked Merimac Point and Key Ranch north but didn't see much. On to Key Ranch Drop-off and found fish there in 12 to 16 fow. Caught em til total count got to 50 then headed home. Caught all but one fish on #2 Mepps. The other was on a #4 just to see if I could entice a fish to take a 4. It took several casts whereas a 2 would get a fish every cast.

24 lb buffalo caught on #2 Mepps:

Nice weekend for August! I was out at Merrimac and North Key Ranch humps, and managed about 25 in a couple hours on Saturday, including a nice legal hybrid. One day I'll see you out there and say Hey. Not sure what you fish out of, I'm the little 17 foot white Nitro that's usually around Key Ranch area, as its near the house...
