I think my kid killed our Wrangler (fairly certain the insurance company will total it) and I need to get her another vehicle. We've seen quite a few Kia's in our price range and was wondering if anybody had experience with them?

Though I got to admit, a bumper car covered in Charmin and bubble wrap may make more sense for her.

I don't own one, but I have driven several of them in the past. I am pretty impressed with the stuff they are putting out now. I will be looking at a kia when the time comes to replace my wifes car.

Have a buddy that has two of them both the same and they have been great for him also.

My daughter is really making me mad. I may buy her a 25 year old Chevy and a pair of Nike shoes.

Used Sportage would be a good car for a young person.

The one I was looking at sold. Still waiting on an insurance check, but they did total the Jeep. I can't decide what to do. Cheap 4 door with 70k miles, small suv with 100k or truck (big v8) with 130k. Whatever it is, it'll be cheap because after my kid's had two wrecks in two months, my insurance is going to skyrocket.

Only downside of a car is she can't stay off the curb. You can do a lot of damage to a vehicle that sits low.

...can't stay off guard rails, either. crazy

Sounds like a drivers ed refresher course with a test administered by pop's is in order. Then reward her with a bicycle and encouragement to find a job and by her own car thumb

At this point I think I would be more worried about the safety of my child than the car.

Found a Sorento 3.5 hours away. Asked the guy, "Before I drive that far, can you do a walk around and let me know if there is anything that might change my mind like rust or damage?" The guy sends me a picture of scratched plastic on the fender flare and says that's it, no body damage. I priced the part at $153 plus shipping. No big deal. So I drive almost 4 hours one way. There IS body damage and the paint is scratched to hell and the taillight is busted on the the OTHER side of the vehicle. WTH is wrong with salesmen?

The search continues. barf

they all think "if I can just get him on the lot". Sounds like whatever you get her it is going get beat up anyway. I think she need a Schwinn.

After 7 hours of driving in the pouring rain yesterday and light rain/high humidity today, I had my first engine shudder on the ecoboost. Punched it to get around a guy and my engine light came on, engine cut out several times for a split second. Got off the road, restarted and ran fine. THAT did not make me happy either. 48,500 miles.
