Been a busy week with offshore jetty and Tarpon trips. The jettys have been producing mixed bags of reds, drum and trout along with a few bull reds mixed in. Have had a few bulls over 40" but most in the 36" range. Tide is the key and the best bite is just before and after slack tide lately. Shrimp and sardines fished on the bottom has been working best for me.
Offshore fishing was a Bit slow around platforms with only small kingfish biting. Action on shrimp boats was fair for Ling with lots of Bonita action. Mangrove snapper to 10 lbs were fair on cut bait around platforms.
Tarpon action has been very good for the past week when the wind has been descent. Have been jumping tarpon daily casting and trolling coon pops. Only another month and a half of tarpon fishing left so if you want to catch a tarpon the time is now.
The Ling run is just around the corner so book your trips soon.
