I fished this weekend and found the crappie and bass bitting. I used minnows for the crappie with a simple wire hook and split shot. I fished close to the bottom in 8 ft of water. Four crappie went 15 inches or more.
What is the best way to deal with people who don't understand what a no wake zone is. When you tell them to slow down they don't and then they do it again. The sad part is that they have kids with them! I'm sure they have great parenting skills. Lol

Has this ever worked in Real time (same day) for someone? I'm betting 50%+ of boaters and jet skiers never pay any attention or care about no wake zones unless there is a game warden sitting next to the buoy...

I havent been out on Dunlap in a while, but my last 2 times out (which was a long time ago) someone unauthorized moved the last bouy as to expand the No Wake Zone all the way to the 1st bend at the Marriot. I called GRBA and asked them if the bouy was suppose to be there and they had no idea what I was talking about. Since we saw Game Wardens running on plane past it, so did we. That bouy was 1/4 mile past the "last" bouy up river by the bridge.
If you were to idle from the bridge to the "last" bouy you saw, then get on plane nobody could fault you if you ran a 1/4 mile on plane down the lake and then saw another bouy and have no idea what it was.
3 weeks later and the bouy was moved a few hundred yards back up river. I heard the bouy was moved again, but cant confirm.

When the river flooded the bouy was washed down river. When people speed by the boat ramp or close to the ramp this is what I'm referring to. Normally the last bouy is at the bend in the river.

I havn't had many problems with people in that no wake zone, I feel like in general everyone I have ran into at Dunlap has been very nice and respectful, but I only fish weekdays and early on weekends so I avoid most of the pleasure boater crowd.
You were finding the bass in 8ft as well?

The water depth fluctuates as you move from locations. I prefer the deeper holes for bass
